A series of basic and intermediate skills computer classes are offered to help familiarize students with computer essentials such as: functions and operations of a computer, learning to set up an email account, navigating the internet, and learning to take precautionary measures associated with online activity.
Introductory classes to Facebook and Skype are also offered in an attempt to reduce social isolation and easily connect with friends and family, common challenges amongst Seniors and Adults with Disabilities. Classes will also be offered to help students search for employment opportunities and manage finances online, further enhancing online capabilities of participants.

To acknowledge the specific needs of Seniors and Adults with Disabilities, each desktop and laptop computers are configured with a suite of accessibility software. Some of which are listed below.
Zoomtext Keyboard and Software
Designed by Ai Squared, ZoomText is an advanced screen magnification program that enlarges and enhances everything on the computer screen, making your computer easier to see and use. Designed for anyone who struggles to see the lettering on their keyboard, the new ZoomText Large-Print Keyboard makes typing faster and easier than ever before. Each key and button label is easy to see, even in low light, thanks to its 36-point text and choice of high-contrast color schemes:“White on Black”.
*Note that the keyboard is not available with the laptops.
Brain Fitness Programs
The Brain Fitness Program enhances your auditory system so you can think faster, focus better, and remember more. Sharpens your visual system to improve your ability to take in, react to, and remember what you see. Both Posit Science Auditory and Visual are configured in the systems.
Logitech Trackballs are made available in each computer center to help prevent and alleviate long-term repetitive stress injuries.
Log-in options in English, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Vietnamese are available to address seniors who are linguistically isolated. Logitech Headphones and wheelchair accessible desk are available for those who have hearing impairments and are wheelchair bound.
